A message from concentration advisor Prof. Neumann
make sure to contact him a.s.a.p. if you are interested in this exciting opportunity!
I met with Virginia Adams yesterday, who is the Senior Architectural
Historian at a firm called “Public Archaeology Laboratory” in Pawtucket.
They do a lot of applied architectural history in the state, work closely
with the different preservation offices and the Historic District
Commission, and their work is good and interesting. They are looking for
interns. We could combine an internship with an independent study, if
someone is interested in doing this.

Innovation/Adaptation: 5,000 Years of Making Art in China
Lectures in the Innovation/Adaptation: 5,000 Years of Making Art in China series investigate objects in action, as agents of social coherence and of cultural change. During the first semester, scholars will speak on Neolithic jade, early bronze casting, Tang Dynasty gold and silver, and Song studio painting practice. Each of these art forms have come to characterize material culture in China, and each is now undergoing fundamental changes in understanding.
